Please email the conference coordinator if you cannot find an answer to your question or need further assistance.
Start with Travel Juneau for all the information you need on things to do, where to eat, history of the area, and what to expect during your visit in Alaska's capital city. The Juneau Events Calendar is your go-to resource for performances and events of all kinds while you're in town.
If you're planning to spend time walking Juneau's many beaches, be aware of our large fluctuations in high and low tides. Check the Tide Table before you go.
Hoping to spot the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) while you're here? You may just get lucky. If the skies are clear and the Aurora forecast is favorable, head to an area of town away from the city lights and look up after dark. Green bands of light might just dance across the sky.
Daytime temperatures in mid-May average around 50-55 degrees Farenheit, but can range from the low 40's to the high 60's. Nighttime temperatures can drop into the 30's. Dressing in layers is essential. Hope for sun, but prepare for rain. Juneau is a temperate rainforest after all. Plan for 17+ hours of daylight. Sunrise will be around 5:15am and sunset at about 10:45pm.
Downtown Juneau is very walkable, but vehicles are helpful for exploring areas outside of the city center. The Juneau airport put together some helpful information on ground transportation including: taxis, Uber, Lyft, vehicle rentals, and public transportation. Cycle Alaska offers bicycle rentals. If you are in need of accommodation, check out Travel Juneau's accessible tourism information.
Neither of the conference hotels offer shuttle service, but the linked ground transportation guide (above) will assist you in making plans to get to and from the airport (approximately 8 miles from downtown).

Alternatively, you can request, in writing, a transfer of your conference registration to another colleague, not yet registered, at no additional fee. Please email conference staff to request a refund or registration transfer. Guests are encouraged to purchase additional travel insurance in the event plans change on your end and you need to cancel.
